Museum of Florida History

This was our first official field trip for this school year. We went to Gainesville and visited one of the best museums around. It was even more special because we planned for the Dads to go, so they are scheduled on Saturdays! It was super nice to let some of them take the lead on giving out information and keeping up with the younguns! It was a really nice day!

We had access to the traveling exhibit on sound and music. It was really cool. Steph played this gigantic xylophone, and she could actually bang out a tune!

Good and smart kids!

We were watching for the storm that was coming across the plain!

The statues of the traveling tribe were so realistic we could not help but bow and give the chief honor!

Mangroves and the nursery of lower Florida.

She was told to not touch the displays!

These dioramas were amazing. It was hilarious how culture has shaped our kids minds...Stephanie came around the corner and immediately imagined how the scene would play out if they all came alive like they did in the movie, Night at the Museum!

We found this information right at the end of our tour. I must research this information!
